Be Aware…

by Tre Alee on Jan.27, 2010, under My thoughts

You know what? I’ve been thinking about something that I want to share with you.

Since the earthquake in Haiti, everyone’s awareness has been peeked so to speak. We see all types of events to raise money or donate items for the cause, which is wonderful and a true blessing. My question is though, once it “dies” down, will the need to help or the awareness of the hardships in Haiti die down as well? It’s sad to say, but I think so many of us will forget or maybe I should say not pay close attention anymore because we have probably already done our part to “help”. Hopefully, I’m wrong in saying this.

Granted, life must go on and we have to continue doing what is necessary for our own lives, but let’s not forget about the pain of others. Of course we may not be able to donate loads of clothing or thousands of dollars on a regular basis, but let’s try to remain conscious of what is going on. If we can’t do anything else but pray or speak a positive word in the atmosphere or give of ourselves in some type of way, then let’s make it happen.

In our efforts of giving to Haiti, let’s make an effort to look at the people in close proximity to us as well. There are so many people suffering all over and many times they are overlooked also because they don’t fit into our life or lifestyles. Just remember this; greater blessings come from helping somebody else along the way. Take a minute to visit a homeless shelter, a food bank, a battered woman’s safe house, the cancer unit or anywhere that there is a need. I’m a living witness that a smile, a hug, a hand shake or just a kind word goes a long way. In some type of way we all need help, some of us more than others, but no man is an island and giving of your time and love will go a long way.

Much love…

Come Hang with Me

by Tre Alee on Jan.20, 2010, under My thoughts

Hey, what are you doing this Saturday night? I would love to see and meet you in person if you’re free to mingle with me for a little while.

I’m personally inviting you to come meet me at Tamboo, 252 Main Street in Brockton, MA at 5pm to 8pm. The ladies of The Norfolk Plymouth County Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are sponsoring a book club to help promote my current novels, Straight with Options & And So Shall You Reap.

I’m honored and humbled by their support and everyone else who supports my work. This will give you the chance to hang out with me to hear my thoughts and reasons behind my work. I’ll also be signing books as well as selling them so please come out and join me. It would be my pleasure to meet you in person.

Keep an eye out for more things to come from Tre Alee and Team Tre Alee. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

You Made My Night…

by Tre Alee on Jan.10, 2010, under My thoughts

Last night was great! The show at N~Fuszion was a great success and the place was packed. I appreciate everyone for coming out and showing support and love to me. I was humbled and grateful, so thank you all. I also want to thank all of you who watched the concert via Ustream.com and chatted about the event. I appreciate you all as well.

Major, major thank you that I have to get out that was an oversight on last evening. I have to thank my good friend and publicist, David Johnson, who is an important part of Team Tre Alee. He is the person responsible for my website, www.trealee.com, and all other major behind the scenes media that is done on a daily basis. He takes on my projects as if they were his own and puts more than enough into his work for me. I couldn’t ask for a better person to help me get to the next level. If it weren’t for God touching his heart to help me progress, I would not have gotten to this next level. I’m so grateful that he is on my team! So David, please blame my oversight on my head and not my heart. I love and appreciate you big time!!!!!!

I also want to thank Jerome Kyles again for coming out and doing his thing for my event. I appreciate he and his crew for coming out.

Okay well keep your eyes open for the next big thing. Again thank you all for everything! Tre Alee won’t and cannot stop! Lets go!!!!!!!

So check me out on Saturday, January 9th @ 23 Montello Street, Brockton. The doors open at 8:30pm and the broadcast begins at 9:45pm EST and the concert starts at 10:00pm.
